In addition to his Acting work, Rohan also currently directing feature films and adapting IP for Television.

Rohan Kwayedza Cutlip is an American-Zimbabwean artist from Washington, D.C., with a passion for telling emotionally resonant, culturally rich stories. He began his career working with Danai Gurira and Gale Anne Hurd’s Almasi Collaborative Arts in Zimbabwe, where he honed his skills in directing, acting, and writing while reconnecting with his roots.

Rohan earned his BFA in Acting from CalArts and has since worked as a screenwriter, actor, copywriter, and showrunner’s assistant for major studios including Disney and NBCUniversal. He worked on The Best Man: Final Chapters, where he shadowed directors like Malcolm D. Lee, Stacey Muhammed, and Robert Townsend—an experience that deeply shaped his storytelling style.

He wrote, directed, and starred in MAKADII, a proof-of-concept trailer selected for Jordan Peele’s “No Drama” competition. Completed in under two weeks, the project showcases Rohan’s creativity, vision, and ability to lead under pressure. MAKADII is now in development as a feature film.

Rohan co-founded the Gatsby Award at CalArts, an endowment supporting students of color with tuition, housing, and material costs. He is also a participant in Lena Waithe’s Hillman Grad Mentorship Program, a finalist at the Kerry International Film Festival, a quarterfinalist in the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards, and appears in Amazon MGM’s Fallout.
